Broadslab Distillery Wedding; Benson, NC

After postponing their wedding for a year - Ashley & Josh couldn't have had a better day for their celebration of love! Everything came together so perfectly and all the details they decided to add created the most gorgeous day with beautiful weather surrounded by a great group of people!

The Details

So many simple & sweet details can make the day pop! For Ashley & Josh that's exactly what they did! Their vow books (Starboardpress.com) will still be perfectly in tact in 10 years and it matched perfect to all their details! The navy pops next to the blush and her dress was the die for! It had a glitter layer ya'll! Of course they couldn't get through the day without incorporating their furrbabes - Not only were their signature drinks named after them at the bar (The Milly & The Dowdy), I had the privilege of assembling their cake/cupcake tabled with personalized Milly & Dowdy cake accessories!

The Wedding Party & Ceremony

These two are so loved by so many & I could tell by my first step into the rehearsal. Rehearsals are some of my favorite because I get to put a name to a face for everyone in the family and wedding party and really get to see what the tone of wedding day is going to be. Although I work with my couples for 3-6 months, or sometimes 2 years in this case, prior to the wedding day, you learn so much from their friends and families! and what a great group this was!

Ashley & Josh were married by a good friend, and he had the best officiant book - Harry Potter of course! Taped inside were his notes for the ceremony but what a fun spin to put into a personalized ceremony. Have a favorite book or commonality? Ask your officiant to place his notes in something that ties that into your ceremony.

But let's just take a second to appreciate Josh's reaction when he saw Ashley at the alter! These two did not do a first look with each other, instead they did with their parents - and these are the reactions I live for in this industry! These are the reactions that make a crazy busy day completely worth every second!

The Reception

When I tell you this was a fun group - I mean this was a FUN group! Look at that dancing and hopping and spinning. It was non stop throughout the whole party! Between Queen, a dance line and the Groom & his college buddies shotgunning a beer in the back for ole times sake, this was a PARTY! Ashley & Josh both went to ECU and most of those in attendance shared the same school pride. One of the bridesmaids' speeches, of course, had a school chant involved in her poem - yes, a 5-minute poem! Complete with bridal bouquet toss over the balcony and ECU Garter toss - there was little this party didn't have! What do you expect for the first weekend after COVID restrictions were lifted though?

The Newlyweds

Ashley & Josh - What a gorgeous couple! They were so much fun to hang out with all day and you just felt the love oozing from their smiles. These two were able to enjoy the day to its fullest and really took to heart the meaning of wedding day - starting a life together and enjoying every moment of it with each other! Complete with sparkler exit and thunderbird sendoff, this day was absolutely perfect! Congratulations Ashley & Josh! Forever a lifetime of happiness wishes for you!
